Dominique Jost
For Dominique Jost, the iPhone very quickly became more than just a phone but rather a device to capture slices of the world around him. Involved in iPhoneography since 2008, nique88888 has become an important eye in the community, driving forward with a creative, observant spirit. People, places, things and moments are laid bare by his pictures, often capturing the essence in a way that could never be spoken but is inherently understood when seen. His play with colour and shadows speaks very much to a subtle yet insightful aesthetic. Dominique's work has been celebrated in a variety of spaces including EYE'EM Exhibitions in New York and Berlin, Pixels at an Exhibition in Berkeley and the iPhoneography Exhibition at La Panera Art Center in Lleida (Spain). He has also featured extensively on various websites and in the recent book "The Art of iPhoneography". He operates, not in isolation, but as part of a wider community and collaborates with other iPhoneographers whether through sharing of imagery or through the creation of additional spaces, such as the Paper Love Project he initiated on Flickr.
